Online ECA/EMR Course Description
Overview
Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) play a critical role in providing immediate, lifesaving care to patients in emergency situations. They have the essential knowledge and skills to administer urgent interventions while waiting for additional EMS resources to arrive. EMRs also support higher-level EMS personnel during emergencies and patient transport, making them an indispensable part of the EMS team. Working under medical oversight, EMRs perform basic, yet crucial, interventions with minimal equipment.
This certification is ideal for individuals such as firefighters aiming for TCFP certification, first responders in rural areas, industry campus first responders, law enforcement officers, and similar roles. The EMR role is focused on preparing you to effectively respond to emergencies and care for patients until a transport EMS unit takes over.
