ACLS Instructor

Do you hold a current AHA ACLS provider certification? Are you interested in teaching ACLS to others? If you answered yes to both questions, then the Instructor Program is the right program to meet your needs. 

The Instructor Program is intended for any individual, currently certified in ACLS, who wishes to become an instructor of ACLS. This is a multi-part program which includes online training, classroom training, student teaching, and observation. 

All Materials required for the course are inlcuded in DIGITAL format. You can choose to change it to print materials via the course add on spot. As a note the paper instructor manuals are sent as 3-whole punched paper without a binder from the AHA.

Included in Cost:

  • ACLS Essentials
  • ACLS Digital Instructor Manual
  • ACLS Digital Provider Manual
  • Initial Monitoring

Pre-Requisites:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • Be aligned with an AHA TC/TS (You can align with us, we do not charge for alignment.

  • Have a current AHA ACLS Provider Course Completion Card (if exprired or about to expire and cannot attend a renewal, click on the HeartCode ACLS on the add on's. You will be expected to show up 45 mintues prior to start of class for skills.)

  • Be proficient in the skills of BLS and ACLS

  • Successfully complete the online portion of the instructor’s essentials.

CAPCE CE’s included are: 1.25 Hour for Online Essentials Course, and 9 hours for the in person course for a total of 10.25 Hours.

BLS Instructor

Do you hold a current AHA BLS provider certification? Are you interested in teaching First Aid and CPR to others? If you answered yes to both questions, then the Instructor Program is the right program to meet your needs. 

The Instructor Program is intended for any individual, currently certified in BLS, who wishes to become an instructor of BLS and Heartsaver CPR/AED classes. This is a multi-part program which includes online training, classroom training, student teaching, and observation.

- Clinical Rotations: Hands-on experience in a clinical and prehospital setting, with trained professionals and preceptors, and documentation using FISDAP. If you are currently working for a hospital or ambulance service, or have one in the area, we are happy to send an MOU to add them to our rotations, if they will allow.

Online ECA/EMR Course Description

Overview
Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) play a critical role in providing immediate, lifesaving care to patients in emergency situations. They have the essential knowledge and skills to administer urgent interventions while waiting for additional EMS resources to arrive. EMRs also support higher-level EMS personnel during emergencies and patient transport, making them an indispensable part of the EMS team. Working under medical oversight, EMRs perform basic, yet crucial, interventions with minimal equipment.

This certification is ideal for individuals such as firefighters aiming for TCFP certification, first responders in rural areas, industry campus first responders, law enforcement officers, and similar roles. The EMR role is focused on preparing you to effectively respond to emergencies and care for patients until a transport EMS unit takes over.

If you are a volunteer firefighter, a volunteer at a fire department, or a law enforcement officer, please contact us for a discount. This course is eligible for HB2604 grant funding for rural or volunteer fire departments or the ECA funding through HB 2446 ECA Training Fund. If you are planning on using a HB to pay, please reach out before signing up.

Heartsaver Total Course Description

 

Course Overview

The Heartsaver Total Course is a comprehensive, instructor-led training program designed to teach life-saving skills to individuals with little or no medical training. This course is perfect for workplace responders, school staff, and community members who need a certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid.

Course Format

This course is conducted entirely in-person, providing hands-on instruction and practice under the guidance of a certified Heartsaver instructor. The in-person format ensures that participants receive immediate feedback and support while learning essential life-saving techniques.

Course Content

During the course, participants will learn and practice the following skills:

  • Adult, child, and infant CPR
  • Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Relief of choking
  • First Aid basics (e.g., recognizing and treating common injuries and medical emergencies)
  • Understanding how to respond to various emergencies

The course includes interactive lessons, demonstrations, and scenario-based training to reinforce learning and build confidence.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the in-person course, participants will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver Total Course Completion Card, valid for two years.

Heartsaver Total Blended Learning Course Description

Course Overview

The Heartsaver Total Blended Learning Course is a comprehensive, flexible training program designed to teach life-saving skills to individuals with little or no medical training. This course is perfect for workplace responders, school staff, and community members who need a certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid.

Course Format

This blended learning course combines online and hands-on instruction. Participants begin with self-paced online modules, followed by an instructor-led, in-person skills session to practice and demonstrate proficiency.

Online Modules

The online portion covers essential concepts and techniques through interactive lessons and videos. Topics include:

  • CPR
  • Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Relief of choking
  • First Aid basics (e.g., recognizing and treating common injuries and medical emergencies)
  • Understanding how to respond to various emergencies

Participants can complete the online portion at their own pace, typically within a few hours. Upon completion, they must attend the hands-on skills session.

Additionally, we require a $100 hold for manikins not returned with the included return label within one week after the skills date. Course overview

Whether you’re an entrepreneur looking to start your own emergency care training business or the newly designated training coordinator at your company or agency, the HSI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is an effective way to do both. Using a blended training approach, the IDC combines an initial online learning session to develop cognitive understanding, followed by a single-day, in-person classroom session for practicing instructional skills.

Intended Audience

Individuals without prior instructor training wishing to become an HSI authorized instructor.

Prerequisites

Individuals at least 17 years old who hold current provider certification and/or demonstrated competency in layperson adult, child, and infant CPR, AED, and first aid.

Successful Completion

Successful completion of the IDC by itself does not authorize an instructor candidate to conduct HSI training courses and issue certification cards. Candidates who have successfully completed the IDC must affiliate with an approved Training Center which will submit an application for instructor authorization. Instructor candidates can also establish their own Training Center

TCFP Driver Operator Pumper Course

The TCFP Driver Operator Pumper Course is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare firefighters to operate fire department pumpers with confidence, precision, and safety. This course meets all standards set by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP), ensuring participants are fully equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel as a Driver Operator in their department.

Eligible for HB2604 funding, this course provides an affordable and accessible pathway for firefighters to meet career advancement goals.

Course Highlights:

  • Thorough training in fire apparatus systems and components
  • Comprehensive understanding of hydraulic theory and water flow management
  • Safe driving and emergency vehicle operation techniques
  • Practical instruction in pump operations, drafting, and troubleshooting
  • Preventative maintenance for optimal apparatus performance

Course Format:

  • Start Date: 1st of the month
  • End Date: 15th of the following month
    This hybrid course combines online learning with practical skills assessments to accommodate the needs of busy professionals. Students can complete lessons at their own pace and schedule skills evaluations around thier scheudle.

Flexible Skills Evaluation Options:

Participants have the flexibility to complete the hands-on skills portion of the course at their home department under the supervision of a qualified evaluator. This option allows students to train in a familiar environment while maintaining operational readiness. Skills assessments are also available at one of our approved training locations for those who prefer onsite instruction.

We know resilience is vital to the overall performance and wellbeing of Emergency Responders from recruitment through retirement, as well as to their families, and the people and communities they serve. The ResponderStrong Mental Health Curriculum was developed by a team of Emergency Responders, educators, researchers, and mental health clinicians to incorporate into Emergency Responder training at any level: entry, peer support, in-service, or leadership. This half-day curriculum provides students with foundational knowledge of Responder mental health, including:

Our goal with this training is not only to increase knowledge but more importantly to erode the stigma that leads so many Responders to suffer in silence. Through the increased awareness and skills generated in this short course, Responders find themselves empowered to better manage the mental and emotional challenges of the job.

 

This course is entirely online with a live instructor and offers 4 hours of Texas approved EMS CE's.

 

 

TCFP Skills Exam Course

The TCFP Skills Exam is designed for individuals who possess a QUAL number issued by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) or for those who have completed coursework at another training facility and wish to have their skills evaluated by us.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • QUAL Number: Participants with a TCFP-issued QUAL number must provide it upon registration.
  • External Education Programs: If you are enrolled in another educational program and are utilizing our services for your skills test, you must provide your school's contact information and any necessary documentation to facilitate the skills evaluation.
  • For live fire, NFPA/TCFP Compliant structrual fireifghter gear and SCBA with required documentation.

Skills Testing Available:

We offer skills testing for the following programs to students with a QUAL number:

  • Incident Safety Officer
  • Fire Instructor (Levels 1-3)
  • Fire Officer (Levels 1-4)
  • Basic Firefighter
  • Basic Fire Inspector
  • Plans Examiner
  • Fire and Life Safety Educator (Levels 1 and 2)
  • Driver Operator Pumper (access to a fire apparatus required)
  • Fire/Arson Investigator
  • Hazardous Materials Incident Commander
  • Incident Commander

For students enrolled in other educational programs, we provide skills testing for the above-listed programs as well as:

  • Driver Operator Aerial (access to an aerial apparatus required)
  • Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (access to necessary equipment and training materials required)
  • Hazmat Technician (access to necessary equipment and training materials required)
  • Fire Marshal

Important Notes:

  • Live Fire Training: If your course requires live fire training, please notify us in advance. We typically do not conduct live fire skills evaluations, and scheduling suitable times may be necessary unless you have access to all required equipment and training props.

Online EMS Instructor Course is intended for EMS professionals wishing to teach CE or initial training. Students will learn how to create effective quizzes and testing material, informative presentations and teaching skills for the modern work atmosphere. This course is designed to meet the needs of Texas EMS personnel. It is based on the 2002 standards set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
